During your pregnancy, you will surely notice several changes to your body. Your abdomen begins to protrude and the curve in your back becomes more pronounced. You start retaining water and may get a sore back, neck or joints. Your pelvis begins to adjust into a new position and shape to make room for your developing baby and also to prepare for birthing. Because of all these changes, chiropractic care can greatly alleviate much of the stress your body is going through.

While chiropractic is generally thought of as a treatment for a hurt back, neck or joint pain, it’s also extremely effective in treating various other conditions. Chiropractic is a hands-on approach to manipulating the spine and promoting a healthy body through a healthy spine. When the spine is properly aligned, your nervous system is able to transmit the correct information through to the spinal cord to the brain. But how does this affect your pregnancy?

Chiropractors are trained and skilled in prenatal and postnatal adjustments and this type of care is routine for most. Pelvic adjustments are a .large part of chiropractic care during pregnancy. During your pregnancy, your pelvis adjusts its shape and position to make room for your growing baby and also for the birthing process. If your pelvis is misaligned, your unborn baby may not have the proper amount of room for its development or you may experience difficulty during labor and delivery.

Since a healthy spine promotes a healthy body, you may experience these benefits as well:

Less nausea

Relief from back, neck and joint pain associated with pregnancy

Less chance of cesarean; more chance of a healthy, natural delivery

Speak with your chiropractor about the various benefits of chiropractic care during and after your pregnancy. Your chiropractor may even have a specialty such as pre- or postnatal care, pelvic adjustments or other advanced methods of care.

PMS, pre-menstrual syndrome, has many effects on the body of a woman including bloat, cramps, headaches, fatigue and even backaches.

With all of these symptoms, women have been searching for years for natural treatments for their PMS — and there are several available. Some vitamins, like vitamins B and D, help relieve reduced seratonin levels and depressed moods, respectively. Yoga helps reduce stress and promotes a calmer state of mind. Several herbs help with everything from cramps to anger. This is all fine and good, but all of these are still only treating the symptoms — not the PMS itself.

Several studies have shown the positive effects of chiropractic care in relation to PMS symptoms. Many women have stumbled upon these discoveries by “accident” after visiting a chiropractor for for back pain associated with PMS. The spinal adjustments have helped with everything from the cramping to the irritability associated with PMS.

Chiropractic care works to relieve PMS because the nerves associated with various organs rely on the spinal column to allow an unaffected path to the spinal cord and brain. When the spine is misaligned in any way, these nerves are affected which in turn affects the various organs and systems responsible for your reproductive health — and the symptoms you suffer from. A misaligned spine, or subluxations, can be the result of anything including a car accident, a fall or even old sports injuries. Even if you don’t suffer from back pain on a regular basis, your spine may be ultimately affecting other aspects of your health and which may be resulting in PMS symptoms. Spinal adjustments may reduce or even completely relieve even your most troublesome PMS symptoms.

The terms “heart disease” and “cardiovascular disease” are often used interchangeably with each other. That being said, however, heart disease envelops a wide range of conditions including diseases that affect your blood vessels; arrhythmias; infections of the heart; and congenital heart defects. Cardiovascular disease, on the other hand, is generally used to refer to conditions including blocked blood vessels, angina or stroke.

Causes

The term “cardiovascular disease” most often refers to damage of your heart or blood vessels by a buildup of plaque in your arteries known as atherosclerosis. Once this plaque builds up, it creates havoc in your normally flexible arteries and starts to prevent the blood from flowing properly to your heart and body.

The most common cause of atherosclerosis is living an unhealthy lifestyle that includes a bad diet, little or no exercise, being overweight and bad habits such as smoking. Switching gears into living a more healthy lifestyle can greatly reduce your chance of getting cardiovascular disease or even reduce many of the symptoms of heart disease.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Chiropractic care uses a hands-on approach to health care through manual manipulations of the spine. Unlike conventional medical care, chiropractic does not use surgery or drugs to treat patients.

Each of the vertebrae in your spine are distinctly related to various organs or systems in your body through a complex collection of nerves. When the spine is even slightly out of line, your nervous system has a difficult time transmitting the correct information to the brain.

When it comes to heart disease, recent studies have shown that chiropractic adjustments reduce the heart rate and may even stop some heart attacks as they’re occurring.

Blood pressure has also been shown to be effectively reduced with chiropractic adjustments, along with anxiety.

Conclusion

Because heart disease effects so much of the American population, and because chiropractic care is rapidly becoming more recognized for its effectiveness, discussing any heart disease you may have or be predisposed to with your chiropractor can greatly increase your ability to overcome a great number of heart diseases.

Chiropractic Adjustments Can Significantly Lower High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure, or hypertension, affects approximately 1 in 3 adult Americans and can lead to serious health problems including coronary disease, stroke, kidney failure and heart failure. Your blood pressure levels are read in two numbers: Your systolic and diastolic blood pressure. When written or said, your levels are typically your systolic over your diastolic pressure.

Keeping an eye on your blood pressure is important because your blood pressure levels don’t stay the same all the time. For example, your blood pressure lowers when you sleep and climbs back up when you wake. Your blood pressure will also rise when you’re excited, anxious, nervous or active. When your blood pressure levels stay higher than normal, you have a higher risk of developing potentially life-threatening disease.

Treatments

Conventional medicine relies on prescriptions of any number of high-blood-pressure medications to help control your blood pressure and keep it within a healthy range. Unfortunately, these medications often come with a series of side effects which may alter quality of life and other aspects of health.

Living a healthier lifestyle is often associated with lowering your blood pressure and keeping it at a healthy level, but it’s certainly not the only option for natural relief of high blood pressure.

A 2007 study involving a specialized chiropractic adjustment showed an average drop of systolic blood pressure by 14 mm Hg and an average drop in diastolic blood pressure of 8 mm Hg.

The study conducted focused on the relationship between a healthy body, including your blood pressure, and the position of the Atlas. The Atlas, or C-1, is the top vertebra located in close proximity to your brain stem. Because the Atlas is surrounded by soft tissue, in many cases people may not notice that it is misaligned.

If you are one of the many suffering with high blood pressure, chiropractic adjustments may relieve your symptoms and keep your blood pressure manageable and at a healthy level.

Each of our vertebrae are related to various organs and organ systems in our bodies. The spinal column also protects and houses our spinal cord — the information highway connecting the nerves affecting various organs and parts of our body to our brains. When our spines are damaged and not aligned properly, these nerves get pinched or are otherwise prevented from sending the correct “message” to our brains.

A subluxation, or dislocation in our spine can severely impact the nervous system. Depending on the location of the subluxation, various body parts and systems will be affected. A subluxation of the vertebra L1 can greatly interfere with the health and productivity of your large intestine, and lead to such problems as constipation.

Chiropractors, like Dr. Davis, are the only doctors trained in treating and curing spinal subluxations. If you suffer from chronic constipation, it might be a spinal problem easily corrected by chiropractic.

Unfortunately, for many of the people suffering with degenerative discs, the options they are choosing aren’t only not effectively treating the problem, some may actually make it worse.

While many people flock to back surgery as the “cure-all” for back pain, back surgery has some staggering statistics that may leave you looking for better options for your pain and overall health. Over 500,000 people receive back surgery every year for degenerative disc problems. The cost alone is outrageous, but the surgery can actually create more problems in your back. Spinal fusions can actually create more degeneration in the vertebrae, so what happens in many cases is that you get the same problem in a different location. This creates a never-ending cycle of pain-surgery-pain-surgery. In actuality, within one decade of receiving back surgery, 20 percent of people will need another surgery.

Dr. Oz touches on this in his article “Back Pain: The Truth Behind Controversial Solutions.” In this article, he explains that 80 percent of Americans will have a severe case of back pain. Chiropractic care is one of the leading relief strategies for overcoming back pain — and various other conditions and illnesses.

The DRS Protocol is a spinal decompression method being used by some chiropractors which has shown an 86 percent success in immediately relieving pain and symptoms of degenerative disc disease. Spinal decompression and DRS Protocol are raved about by the patients who have experienced the sudden decrease or complete relief of pain after their sessions. It may even be an answer to the rising cost of health care associated with the pain from degenerative disc disease.

Eight out of ten people develop back pain at some point in their lives. Here’s what you need to tell them: You don’t have to just live with the pain…there is a solution.

Tell them that Dr. Davis right here in Central Florida has successfully treated hundreds of people with low back pain without surgery using the DRS Protocol™. Then, show them Dr. Davis’ website that explains how DRS works, and encourage them to call.

Just one more thing to tell them: Not everyone is a candidate for the DRS Protocol. Only an examination by Dr. Davis can determine that. But if you or your friend suffers from herniated disc, degenerative disc disease, sciatic pain, or failed back surgery, there is a good chance the DRS Protocol™ will bring relief without surgery and without drugs.

Don’t let your friend or loved one suffer any more…call (352) 430-2121 today.

We should all give thanks for the DRS Protocol™ because it is effective for relieving chronic pain in people who have degenerative disc disease.

We should all give thanks for the DRS Protocol™ because it is effective for relieving chronic pain in people who have degenerative disc disease. If you’d like to avoid having this condition in the first place, you might want to shed a few extra pounds. According to a recent study in the journal, Arthirtis & Rheumatism, overweight people are more likely to have degenerative disc disease than normal weight people.

Researchers aren’t sure why overweight or obese people develop disc problems at a higher rate than normal weight people, but this study of over 2,500 Chinese men and women showed strong evidence this is true. They think those extra pounds cause more stress on the discs, or that overweight people often are less active.

Either way, a good weight loss diet now might keep you from suffering back pain later in life. If you do have chronic low back pain cause by degenerative discs, failed back surgery, or any other reason, give the Davis Clinic a call right now. Learn more about the DRS Protocol at our website.
